GVGSP Work Session at Little Black Creek Park in Chili
503 Scottsville Rd
Rochester, NY 14624
USA
Volunteers will meet at Little Black Creek Park, just north of 84 Lumber, in Chili on Scottsville Road (Rt. 383) to help pick up debris, remove tires, trim brush, rake the area and remove invasive species. Bring water, gloves, hand tools (rakes, loppers, hand clippers, shovels). Snacks will be provided by the FOGVG. Please plan to help us clean up this park.
Here is an update for our July 28 event. The paving of the Greenway along Scottsville Road has left sections where grass is not growing well and we will be raking these places, planting new grass seed, and spreading straw. This will be the primary activity for this work session. If time and the number of volunteers permit, we will be cutting knotweed (sometimes called the Godzilla plant) and covering the area with tarps in an attempt to kill or at least slow the growth of this invasive plant.
