Help us uncover history as we tackle the flight of Genesee Valley Canal locks from 9:30 am to noon. Be prepared to park along the sides of Rt. 436 or Oakland Road, please use caution. Volunteers should bring water, gloves, rakes, pruning shears/brush cutters, insect repellant, wear good fitting shoes (work boot type recommended, no sandals) and protective clothing to guard against possible damaging brush, poison ivy, and ticks. Snacks will be available.
Lunch will be provided at about 1 pm at the nearby Nunda Historical Society pavilion on Rt. 436, east of Oakland.
Volunteers will receive ILMPD T-shirts. We encourage participants to Register by using the special I Love My Park site at http://www.ptny.org/ilovemypark/since this avoids the need to complete Volunteer Service and Photo Release forms at the work site on May 4. If you have questions or potential group registrations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Joan Schumaker at 585-490-3302
