Genesee Valley Greenway
The Genesee Valley Greenway is one of hundreds of greenways being developed across the nation along old canals, abandoned rail beds, and riverbanks. It passes through scenic woodlands, river and stream valleys, rolling farmlands, steep gorges, and historic villages located in sixteen towns in Monroe, Livingston, Wyoming, Allegany, and Cattaraugus counties in New York State.
Trail Notes:
- Because of the Geneseo Air Show the Greenway will be closed to use between 8 AM and 6 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday(July 11, 12, 13) on that section between Chandler Road and Cuylerville.
- The DEC will be trapping for Emerald Ash Borer, an exotic, invasive insect, beginning in early June. Trail users may see blue triangular shaped 'sticky'
traps hanging from trees along the Greenway.
