The Genesee Valley Greenway Passport to Family Wellness Program

This program encourages families to get outside and be active on the Genesee Valley Greenway (GVG).  A Passport with 14 GVG hikes from 2 to 7.5 miles long has been designed for this program.  Participants will use this guide to explore and discover the richness of the GVG, increase their level of fitness, and perhaps earn a prize.

Located on each hike is a post with a trail marker identifying that hike.  By using a pencil or crayon, a rubbing can be made in the Passport that corresponds to that particular hike.  Each participant who uses a Passport to complete at least six of the hikes is eligible to receive a coupon redeemable for Wegmans products.  This annual drawing will be held on the first Saturday in May each year at I Love My Park Day on the GVG.

Participants who complete at least 10 GVG hikes may enter an annual grand prize drawing for a free Empire Passport provided by the FOGVG.   The Empire Passport enables the holder to free vehicle access to all participating NYS Parks for one year.

The GVG State Park Passports are available at the following locations:  Wegmans stores in Rochester, Geneseo, and Hornell; the Letchworth State Park Administration Building; the Mt. Morris Dam Visitor Center; and the Livingston Chamber of Commerce Tourist Information Office.  Please note that you need to ask for the passport at each of these locations.  Passports are also available from FOGVG Board Members.
