Help the Friends

Volunteers have been the foundation of the Greenway’s development since its creation in 1991. Opportunities abound to help with tree planting, brush removal, clean ups, and building and installing enhancements such as kiosks, benches, and mile markers. Volunteers also contribute their talent to leading trail outings, grant applications, promotional activities, writing newsletter stories, photography, and staffing information tables at events.

When working on the Greenway, NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation provides Worker's Compensation Insurance protection to the extent provided by law for all persons completing a NYS Volunteer Service Agreement.

If you are interested in helping the FOGVG in our mission, please complete the form below.  You will also need to complete the New York State Volunteer Service Agreement.
